In September 2018, the First Orion Company, a company that provides cell phone caller ID and call blocking technology, predicted an explosion of incoming spam calls from scammers in 2019.  They said, “Year after year, the scam-call epidemic bombards consumers at record-breaking levels, surpassing the previous year, and scammers increasingly invade our privacy at new extremes.”

According to 2016 estimates, the Federal Communications Commission in the USA said that Americans received about 2.4 billion unwanted, automated calls each month!!  The scams include: that you are in some sort of legal trouble, or pretending to be a representative from a bank, or a repairman for your computer, or a debt collector or a cable company or even the Tax Collection department of the government.

It seems no matter what counter-measures are taken to stop the scam-calls, the scammers find ways around them.  The best advice we have heard so far is to simply ‘Slam The Scam’ – hang up on them!

Now, here’s something that might be a bit ‘encouraging’ about the explosion in scam calls… it might just be one more ‘sign’ that we are living in the end times!  2 Timothy 3:13, But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Beloved, this world is getting ‘filled up’ with every kind of hoax and deception, not just this world, but also within Christianity!  False prophets and dangerous doctrines are creeping into churches and into Christian’s lives through the Internet and through so-called Christian Radio.  The Internet gives them a world-wide voice!
