“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.” (Isaiah 55:8) This verse tells us a lot of truth about who God is and who we are as humans. God’s thoughts are always perfect, and ours are not. God’s ways are perfect, and ours are not. There will be many times that we can’t understand God’s thoughts and ways because He is God, and we are not.
There are many examples in the Bible that reveal this principle. When the children of Israel were in a predicament, they saw the power of God. In front of them was the Red Sea; they looked to their left and right, it was a vast wilderness; they looked back and saw the armies of Pharaoh rushing towards them like a hungry animal who wants to kill. There were no other ways, but God made a path. God opened the Red Sea and told them to go forward and “by faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land…” (Hebrews 11:29)
When the children of Israel were about to conquer the Promise Land, God told them to pass through the Jordan River, and, by faith, they passed through the river; even its banks being overflowed with water.
These are just two out of many examples that you can find in the Bible wherein the Lord let His people go forward and pass through difficult or even impossible situations. It seems that there will always be situations in our lives when God wants us to go forward and pass through life’s challenges; through the Red Sea, through the Jordan River, through the wilderness, through the fiery furnace, through the lion’s den, through many challenges in life, and so on. So, the question is not about the power of God, if He can lead us through, it is about our faith in Him.
Do you trust God with all your heart that He can take you through difficulties, challenges, and trials of your faith? If not, ask God to increase your faith more than ever before.
