A lot of people measure their success in this world based upon their acquired riches. They think that this is the only way to reach success. You should have a grandiose house, high paying job, a nice car, and a lot of money. While a house, job, money, and car are needful in our lives, these things do not measure success in life.
Sadly, a lot of Christians are snared in the same mindset and they are unaware of the vast riches they possess in Jesus Christ by grace. The Bible says, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace” (Ephesians 1:7). Think about what happens to a person the moment he trusts Jesus Christ as his Savior. He instantly receives a brand-new life in Christ, indwelt by the Holy Ghost, who is the Comforter, Teacher, and Guide.
Also, God’s riches of grace give all believers an infinite treasury of His wisdom, knowledge, strength, and power; things that money cannot buy. Do you lack wisdom? Are you searching for contentment and peace? Do you need strength in your day-to-day work? The answer can only be found in Jesus Christ.
In Christ, we lack nothing. Some might say, “I don’t feel rich by these things.” Well, I’m talking of riches far beyond what material things can offer, and these are the wonderful, eternal spiritual blessings in Christ, which are secure in Him, and no one is able to take them away from us!
Christians ought to live by faith in Christ, as the Bible says, “…the just shall live by faith” (Habakkuk 2:4). Though life here on earth may seem difficult, let us remember God’s promises and the riches of His grace in Jesus Christ.
1 Timothy 1:14 “And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.”
