Together Again!

Together Again

Back in 1954, 17-year-old Martha Ingham was attending Jeffersonville High School in Indiana when, in tears, she discovered that she had lost her purse.  That was 65 years ago.

Recently, demolition crews were tearing apart the dilapidated old high school when they discovered an old purse with Martha’s ID inside.

So they turned to social media to track her down in the hopes of reuniting her with her handbag and posted it on Facebook.  Although Martha was living in Florida, 1,000 miles away, she learned of her long-lost purse and was reunited with it. (photo)

Well, she felt like she was opening a time-capsule!  Inside she found a track meet ribbon, lipstick and a Juicy Fruit gum wrapper, minus the gum.  But the greatest discovery was a letter from a love-smitten teenager asking her to the junior prom.  The letter said, “Dear Martha, I’ve heard that Paul has asked you to go to prom with him,” the letter reads. “If he hasn’t, I would like very much to take you.”

In our lives, as the years roll on, loved ones sometimes go to heaven before us.  We miss them truly, but oh what a happy day that will be when we see them again with Jesus in heaven!

1Th 4:14-18  “For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
