Recently, NBC News published an interesting article, based on interviews with psychologists and neuroscientists. Apparently, the professionals have studied ‘awe’ and its effect on our well-being and they say that experiencing ‘awe’ can help us all live better lives. “How is that?” you ask.
Awe is the emotion of ‘being overwhelmed in the presence of something greater than us’. And, scientists say that ‘awe’ can play an important role in bolstering happiness, health and our social interactions — and it may have actually play a role in how humans get along and cooperate with one another. Here’s how it works:
They tell us that the more we are awed at the greatness and immensity of something, the more we feel humbled and less likely to give in to selfishness and arrogance, which, of course, destroy human relationships.
NBC News finishes by suggesting that we all go out into nature and look up. So, what do we see? (photo)
Here, the Christian has the advantage, because he knows WHO he is looking at!
Psalm 19:1-3, The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
Even the unsaved world is telling us to LOOK UP, LOOK UP! Fellow Christians, let’s look unto Jesus each and every day and thereby get the Victory over life, for the glory of God!
