Overwhelming Victory

USED WITH PERMISSION

Throughout the Old Testament, apart from God, we can see that Israel was no match compared to their enemies. Many times they were afraid of circumstances before them. Many of them took they faced in a negative way and, as a result, they murmured and rebelled against God.

But God was always gracious to them. God commanded them not to be afraid and often promised that He would fight their battles for them, “The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace” Exodus 14:14. All of the battles they won were not because they were so good, or had wonderful fighting skills, but because they obeyed the Words of God and He brought an overwhelming victory to them. They were more than conquerors because of their faith in God alone.

In our Christian lives, Satan is our greatest enemy. He sends his fiery darts to make us afraid in every situation. He sends all kinds of spiritual-draining, life-threatening, and joy-stealing attacks so that our faith in Jesus Christ will fail. Satan delights over every Christian whom he can defeat in life’s battles. He injects doubts in our minds so that we will no longer rely on God.

But, if we are truly the ‘sons of God’, we have His love and protection always. In Deuteronomy 31:8 says, “And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.” This verse tells us that we face the trials of life with the assurance that we are not alone. We have our heavenly Father who will fight for us and always be there for us.

No sin of ours, and no attempt of the enemy, can steal the loving care of God from our lives; and that makes us “more” than conquerors through Christ who loves us.

Romans 8:37 “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
