Strange and Unusual STORIES

Well, This Sounds Weird

Back in 2014, a 9-year-old boy in South Africa actually married a 62-year-old woman, who already has 5 children aged between 28 – 38 years old.

The boy, Saneie Masilea, married Helen Shabagnu because his family believed that, if he did not, their dead ancestors would do something bad to them.  The ceremony occurred in front of Helen’s other 66-year-old husband, their 5 grown children, and 100 other guests.  Saneie said that when he grows up, he also wants to marry a woman his own age.

Though some people there may think it’s wonderful, other South African villagers described it as “sickening”.

Now, we might wonder what the world is coming to, but we need to remind ourselves that people have been doing strange, weird things since Adam and Eve left the Garden.  It doesn’t mean that everything done is right in the eyes of God; it just means that everything is being done.

The Lord will straighten things out in His time.  But our chief responsibility is to live our lives for His glory as He tells us to in the Bible.  Our chief aim in life is to glorify God.

Isa 43:7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

The only question that remains is, are we doing it?
