Tattooed Man Loses Job as Schoolteacher
They say that one-in-three people have a tattoo on their body.
A 35-year-old man in France, named Sylvain Helaine, had 2 loves in his life: a love of teaching young, school-aged children, and a love of tattoos. Unfortunately for Sylvain, his love of tattoos got the better of him and he went and did this. He even had his eyeballs and his tongue tattooed BLACK.
Needless to say, his appearance frightened one of the school children, who complained to his parents, who went to the school board, and who then fired Sylvain from being a school teacher. Perhaps if Sylvain worked as a tattoo artist he could get away with his appearance; but as a teacher of 6-year-old children??
All of Sylvain’s tattoos tend to make him look like a ‘creature of darkness’ out of a Hollywood movie, and 1Thess. 5:22 tells us to Abstain from all appearance of evil.
Twenty years ago, a teacher would have been let go with just ½ the tattoos that Sylvain has; and twenty years before that, even a few tattoos might have ‘sacked’ the teacher of young children. But these are strange days the world finds itself in where, what was once considered wrong, is now considered right.
Isa. 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Let’s remember that God is STILL God, and this is STILL our Father’s world. We, who are born-again, belong to God and so let’s be careful of our appearances and our behaviour in this world, and let’s do our best to look like creatures of ‘light’ and not as creatures of ‘darkness’.
