Old Bombs Die Hard

Old Bomb

Not every WW2 bomb dropped on Germany exploded.  Last August, a construction, crew in the western German city of Luwigshafen, unearthed what appeared to be a large metal object.  Taking no chances, they contacted authorities, who brought in a bomb disposal team.  The bomb squad verified that it was a 500 KG (1100 lb.) bomb!  (photo)

18,500 people were forced to evacuate the city as the bomb squad carefully removed and deactivated the bomb.

In April, thousands had to clear an area around Berlin's central railway station after a British bomb was discovered on a building site.  In 2017, 60,000 Frankfurt residents were evacuated so that another unexploded 1.8-tonne British bomb dubbed the "blockbuster" could be defused.

Bombs are dangerous things.

After a person gets saved, the war for that person’s soul is OVER.  But, there may be a few unexploded ‘bombs’ of sin still buried deep in the heart.  These spiritual weapons of Satan are NOT to be ignored or trifled with.  They may suddenly go off; and old passions can be enflamed and the Christian might become engulfed in sin!  Then, a good reputation might be lost, and perhaps fruit for the Saviour will go up in smoke!

When we face a spiritual ‘bomb’ we need to evacuate to our Prayer Closets and open the Word of God and call in the Holy Spirit and cry out to Jesus and CLAIM His promises to help us!

Isa_40:31  But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
