World's Longest Hair

Asha Mandela is a 60-yr-old Florida woman who holds the Guinness World Record for having longest hair in the world, which has reached a length of 110 feet.

Mandela, who lives in Clermont Florida, said she first started growing her hair when she moved to the United States from Trinidad and Tobago, more than 40 years ago.  She usually carries her hair around in a cloth bag to prevent her locks from dragging on the ground or straining her neck.  Mandela’s husband is a professional hair stylist from Nairobi, Kenya, and he spends hours each week maintaining Mandela’s hair.  He washes her hair once a week, using up to six bottles of shampoo and ends with a two-day process of drying.  Amazing!

But there was a woman in the New Testament with long hair who used her hair for a special service to the Lord Jesus.  John 12:3 Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.

Mary did not have 110 ft. long hair, but she loved Jesus so much that she wanted to do this special service for Him.  You don’t have to have the world’s longest hair in order to do something for the Lord.  You don’t have to have the wealth of Solomon or the strength of Samson in order to do something special for the Lord.  You just need a heart of love.

So, do whatever you can to serve the Lord with your Time, and Talents, and Treasures, and you too will be blessed, and one day Jesus will say to you, Well done, thou good and faithful servant.
