In 1980, a man in Ontario, Canada, named Bruce Beach, thought that nuclear bombs could hit Canada, so, over the next 5 years, he began building an unusual bomb shelter by burying 42 old school buses 14 feet underground.
Bruce Beach’s bunker measures 10,000 sq. feet of interior space and will accommodate 500 people for several months. It is fully equipped with 2 diesel generators, kitchens, bedrooms, washrooms, recreational areas, a pharmacy, a dental room, a computer room, a library and a morgue.
Some people have called Bruce Beach crazy for building it. Time will tell.
Noah built a place of safety, a ‘floating bunker’, and people called him crazy. And yet, Noah’s Ark ended up saving his life and the lives of his family. The crazy ones turned out to be the people who would not get on.
One day, God sent His Son to earth, and Jesus Christ became our ‘place of safety’ to save us from eternal damnation. Many people have called Jesus crazy, and they call us crazy for trusting in Him. One day, they’ll realize that they were the crazy ones.
As a church, our mission is to spread the gospel around the world and help millions more people and tell people about Jesus Christ, the place of safety. Would you please pray and ask God what He would have you to do to get the gospel around the world?
